If you're bringing a claim to an Employment Tribunal in England or Wales without legal representation, understanding the 2024 Case Management Agenda is crucial. This updated template, introduced to streamline the preliminary hearing process, is designed to be more accessible for individuals representing themselves.
What Is the Case Management Agenda?
The Case Management Agenda is a structured form that both claimants and respondents are required to complete and submit at least seven days before the preliminary hearing. Its purpose is to identify key issues, clarify the claims and responses, and assist the judge in managing the case efficiently. The 2024 version has been revised to use clearer language and simplify the process, making it more user-friendly for those without legal training.
Key Sections of the Agenda
1. Personal and Case Details:Includes information about the parties involved, case number, and any needs for interpreters or adjustments due to disabilities.
2. Claims and Responses:Outlines the specific complaints (e.g., unfair dismissal, discrimination) and any responses or counterclaims from the employer.Courts and Tribunals Judiciary
3. Remedy Sought:Details the compensation or outcomes the claimant is seeking, such as reinstatement or financial compensation.Courts and Tribunals Judiciary
4. Witnesses and Evidence:Lists individuals who will provide testimony and the types of evidence to be presented.Courts and Tribunals Judiciary
