How much can i get for injury to feelings?

The award the tribunal make should reflect the emoitional harm you suffered

What factors affect award amount?

Severity and duration of discrimination
A one-off rude comment likely falls in the lower band. Repeated harassment or humiliating behaviour pushes you into the middle or upper bands

2. Emotional and psychological impact

Tribunals assess how deeply the conduct impacted your wellbeing—especially if it caused stress, anxiety, depression, or panic attacks. They’ll look for evidence in emails, diary entries or witness statements.

3. Aggravating or mitigating behaviour
If the employer acted maliciously or ignored complaints, that can increase the award.

How to estimate your claim

1. Match your case: Use how much compensation can I get for injury to feelings with descriptions like “isolated incident” or “long-term harassment”.

2. Collect supporting documents: Diaries, messages, emails and medical notes help evidence emotional impact.

3. Shape your narrative: Clearly explain how each incident affected you—stress, humiliation, loss of confidence.

4. Refer to Vento bands in your claim form to describe your expected band and support it with your evidence.
